1. Gir National Park :

Gir National Park is a wildlife sanctuary which was established to protect Asiatic Lions. This place is also called Sasan Gir. This place is situated 43kms away from Somnath. It is part of the Kathiawar-Gir dry deciduous forests ecoregion. In Gir National Park, you can spot lions roaming free in the wild. In Gir national park you will not only find rare Asiatic Lions, but also other wild animals and uncommon birds like hyenas, Gir foxes, brown fish owl, pygmy woodpecker, and blackbuck etc. Gir National Park is one of the best places to visit in Gujarat.

2. Dwarkish Temple (Dwarka) :

Dwarkadhish Temple is the most famous temple in Gujarat. Situated in the Dwarka, Gujarat, It is also known as ‘Jagat Mandir‘. This temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna. Lord Krishna is worshipped as the ‘King of Dwarka’, Dwarkadhish in this temple. This temple is one of the Char Dham pilgrimage tours. Dwarakadhish Temple is the 98th Divya Desam of Vishnu, mentioned in the Divya Prabandha sacred texts.

3. Somnath Temple :

Pilgrims who visit the Dwarkadhish Temple also visits the Somnath Temple that is situated in Gujarat. Somnath Temple is considered to be the first Jyotirlinga of Lord Shiva. ‘Soma’ means ‘The Moon God’ and Somnath means ‘Lord of Soma’.

This temple is known to have ‘Eternal Shrine’. It was destroyed for almost 16 times by invaders but was always rebuilt and never lost its beauty. The present temple has the Chalukya style architecture and the skills of Sompura Salats. This shrine is one of the oldest and most visited pilgrimage sites in India. It is one of the best places to visit in Gujarat.

4. Bet Dwarka :

Bet Dwarka is an island in the Arabian Sea coast of Dwarka. The name ‘Bet Dwarka’ comes from the words ‘Bhet’ which means ‘gift’. The island presents a wonderful scenery being surrounded on all sides by the waters of the Arabian Sea. It is believed that several more Dwarakas existed there but all of them had submerged under the Sea. It is one of the best places to visit in Gujarat.

5. Nageshwar Jyotirling :

Nageshwar Jyotirlinga also known as Nagnath Temple, Nageshwar Jyotirlinga is located in Saurashtra, Gujarat. It is situated in between Gomti Dwarka and Bait Dwarka island. The Jyotirlinga is in an underground sanctum. The major attraction of this temple is a 25-meter tall statue of Lord Shiva in a large garden with a pond surrounding the statue.

6. Rukmani Temple :

Rukmini Mandir is located on the outskirts of the city. It is situated 2kms away from Dwarka. Lord Krishan along with his wife, Rukmini, once went to Sage Durvasa. They wanted to invite him for dinner at Dwarka. On the way, Rukmini became thirsty and thus Lord Krishna drew a spring of the holy Ganga water. Sage Durvasa felt insulted that they did not ask for his permission and had water. He thus, cursed Rukmini that she would always live separately from his husband.

Rukmini Mandir thus marks the spot where she stood when she was cursed. The Mandir is a richly carved temple. It is decorated with sculptures of gods and goddesses. The sanctum houses the main image of Rukmini.

7. Kirti Mandir :

Kirti Mandir is a temple built to respect Mahatma Gandhi and Kasturba Gandhi. It is located in city of Porbandar, Gujarat. Just adjacent to the Kirti Mandir is the ancestral house of Mahatma Gandhi. Visitors can enter Gandhi’s ancestral hues through the Kirti Mandir. The temple was built in 1944 to mark the release of Mahatma Gandhi. The centre of the Mandir houses two life-sized paintings of the Mahatma and Kasturba Gandhi. Near their feet, the words ‘The Truth’ and ‘Non-violence’, symbolizes Gandhi’s life and preaching.

 

8. Diu :

Diu is a coastal town that connects itself to Gujarat through a bridge. Diu is a tiny island in the Arabian Sea. It is about 11kms long and 3kms wide. Diu is a beautiful island. It is decorated with excellent golden beaches and whitewashed churches. It also has a bazaar, colourful Lisboa streets. Additionally, it is blessed with a gorgeous climate. Gujarati, Hindi, Portuguese and English are the main languages that are spoken in Diu. It is one of the best places to visit in Gujarat. Diu is visited by many tourists every year.

9. Rann of Kutch :

The Rann of Kutch is a salt desert located in the state of Gujarat. It is a famous white desert festival of kutch where thousands of people visit for this great festival. It’s is famous for folk Music, dance and different cuisines. It has started on October 28th, 2019 it’s going to end soon on Feb 23rd, 2020.
